Naruto opened his eyes slowly blinking in the early morning light that filled the room. He looked down and blushed seeing a sleeping Kazekage snuggled into his side. The blond smiled and reached up to touch the other boys cheek. 'Guess he moves around when he sleeps.. not that I'm complaining.' Naruto thought and pushed back Gaara's red bangs, his eyes landing on the kanji on the pale forehead. 'That doesn't look like a tattoo…it looks like a scar…' Naruto noticed and ran his finger tip over the kanji gently. Gaara made a small noise and Naruto pulled his hand away and blushed when the redhead's eyes slowly opened. Gaara blinked a few times confused by why he was seeing orange and black then looked up at the other boy. His eyes widened and he scooted back a little but Naruto grabbed his shoulder since the Kazekage was near the edge of the bed.

"Careful there redhead." Naruto said with a grin and sat up. Gaara coughed and rubbed the back of his neck feeling suddenly a little awkward. Naruto smiled at him then got up to go make them some food. "I'll be right back Gaara!" Naruto said and ran down stairs. Gaara suddenly felt light headed again and closed his eyes tightly. Naruto got to work making food then came up stairs, he raised a eye brow to see Gaara was tugging at his hair that was in his eyes. The blond crossed the room and set the plates down on the bed side table. "Gaara?" He said and the green eyes turned to stare at him.

"Heh…hiya Naru.." Gaara said his voice a little louder then normal, his cheeks were turned a light red from his fever which made him look like he was blushing.

"Naru?" Naruto said looking confused.

"I wonders why me hair is red…it just has always been red what do ya think?" Gaara suddenly blurted out and Naruto sweat dropped. *I guess the fever has fried the kids brain.* The fox muttered and Naruto reached out a hand to place it on Gaara's forehead. "Hmm watcha do…ing?" Gaara said pausing in the middle of talking to stare up into the blue eyes of his friend.

"Gaara are you ok?" Naruto asked and Gaara grinned at him.

"Neeever betteeer." The Kazekage replied then giggled at the confused look the blond made. "I like cats." Gaara randomly said and Naruto sat down in the chair next to the bed wondering how he was going to handle Gaara acting weird from his fever. "Those are cute." Gaara suddenly said and Naruto looked at him only to jump when a finger was pointed in his face.

"Uh what are?" Naruto asked and Gaara gave him a pout for not being understood.

"Thooose.." Gaara said and poked the side of the blonds cheek. Naruto blushed and gently grabbed the pale hand and moved it away from his face. "Are they whiskers or…or scaaars?" Gaara asked a kid like smile on his face. Naruto just shrugged his shoulders and Gaara went back to tugging on his hair. Naruto got worried when the Kazekage's eyes suddenly closed and he fell back onto the bed. The blond stood up and leaned over the redhead checking to see if he was ok. Gaara then sat up again but Naruto didn't have time to pull back and their lips brushed together. *Hey you finely got that kiss you wanted.* The fox said laughing in the blonds head. The leaf ninja blushed a deep red and leaned back to see a confused look on the Kazekage's pale face. "Huh? What was that? Thaaat felt really…really…" Gaara tailed off as he tried to think of a word and Naruto rubbed the back of his head.

"Weird?" Naruto asked and Gaara shook his head.

"Nope."

"Uh Strange?" Naruto asked again.

"Not really."

"Awkward?"

"Hehe nope!" Gaara said in a cheerful voice that made the blond even more confused.

"Uh….good?" Naruto asked and Gaara grinned at him.

"Yeah! It felt good!" Gaara said and Naruto blushed darker. 'That fever of his is making him act really..really weird. Thank god no one else is around to see him like this.' Naruto thought trying hard not to think about the accidental kiss they had just shared. "Hay Naru.."

"Yes Gaara?" Naruto asked not sure if he wanted to hear what the Kazekage had to say.

"Do you find mee attractive?" Gaara asked and Naruto blushed looking at the redhead.

"W-Why are you asking that?" Naruto asked.

"I dunno." Gaara replied shrugging his small shoulders. "My student once told me I was… but I really don't thinky so." Gaara added and Naruto stared at him.

"Well uh…you are.." Naruto said and rubbed the back of his head. He then frowned and set his hands on his knees. "Your not dating her right?" Naruto asked and Gaara shook his head.

"Nope! I'm not really into girls for some….some…reason!" Gaara said and laughed to himself. Naruto relaxed but then blushed hearing rest of what Gaara said. *Looks like you two have a lot more in common.* The fox pointed out and Naruto reached over stopping the Kazekage from pulling out his own hair.

"Stop messing with your hair." Naruto said and pushed the red bangs out of the light green eyes tucking a bit of it behind his ear. Gaara blinked then reached up and grabbed the blonds hand; he then moved the hand onto his chest placing it over his heart. Naruto's eyes widened and he could feel how fast the Kazekage's heart was beating. Gaara lowered his head and closed his eyes enjoying the feeling of having the blond so close.

"Naru…I…" Gaara started but suddenly fell forward and Naruto caught him.

"Gaara?!" Naruto said looking down at the other boy worried. He sweat dropped when he noticed the redhead had fallen asleep and gently pushed him back onto the pillows, he blinked looking at Gaara's hand that was still holding his. Naruto spent the rest of the night trying to get Gaara's fever under control but in the end fell asleep next to the redhead on his bed.

Early morning light shined through the window, the light glowed through the room slowly waking up the blond hair boy. Naruto groaned and rolled over pulling the blanket over his head to block out the light. He moved his arm over and was surprised he didn't bump elbows with the Kazekage, he frowned and felt around for the other boy but when he felt there was no one next to him his eyes snapped open. "Gaara?" He said and sat up to see the bed was empty. The blond throw off the blankets and jumped out of the bed, he ran over to the bathroom door and looked in seeing the redhead was not there. "Gaara!" He called. 'Where is he? This mansion is huge if he walked off somewhere it might take me hours to find him!' Naruto thought and ran to the door throwing it open. "GA-" He was about to shout but stopped when he noticed the Kazekage standing outside the door a startled look on his face.

"Is something wrong?" Gaara asked leaning back a little.

"Where did you go?" Naruto asked and the redhead handed him a bowel of ramen.

"I was getting you this." The Kazekage replied and stepped around the blond walking back into his bedroom, he took a seat on his bed and closed his eyes. Naruto watched him for a moment then looked down at the bowel a smile appearing on his face.

"How do you feel?" Naruto asked walking over and sitting next to Gaara on the bed.

"I'm fine now…thank you.." Gaara said and folded his arms over his chest. The blond watched him for a moment then set the ramen down on the bed, reaching out he placed his hand on the redhead's forehead and felt him tense up. "Uh…"

"Just checking." Naruto said and split the chop sticks that were sitting in the bowel and started eating. The two sat in silence while the blond ate but Naruto kept on eye on the Kazekage. He set the bowel on the bed side table and got off the bed to get his backpack. "Soo.." He started and Gaara opened his eyes to look at him. "You like cats?" Naruto asked and the redhead gave him a confused look.

"Nani?" Gaara asked wondering how the blond knew about his soft spot for the little felines.

"Just wondering." Naruto said with a chuckle earning another confused look from the Kazekage. Gaara looked away and the blond blinked wondering if he said something wrong. "Gaara?"

"You always do so much for me…and I can never repay you for it… if there is anything you want tell me." Gaara said and Naruto smiled.

"Nah redhead its fine." Naruto said but Gaara shook his head.

"I want to repay you…just tell me what I can do for you." Gaara said. The blond tilted his head in thought as he stared at his friend.

"Ok I know the perfect thing." Naruto replied with a grin and the Kazekage turned his head to look at him. "The best way for you to repay your debt to me!" Naruto said.

"What is it?" Gaara asked in his normal monotone voice.

"You go on a date with me." Naruto said and watched as a blush spread over the sand ninja's face.

"A d-date?" Gaara stuttered in surprise and the leaf ninja nodded. "I t-thought that you liked that Sakura girl… I'm c-confused." The Kazekage said blushing darker when the blond smirked.

"Nope so is it a yes?" Naruto asked reaching over and taking the Kazekage's hand in his. Gaara was in shock, he never thought Naruto would ever ask him something like this. Did this mean his best friend had feelings for him? Gaara moved his gaze down to their hands and felt the blond tighten his grip still waiting for his answer. The sand ninja took in a deep breath to calm his fast beating heart and looked into his friends blue eyes.

"Yes.." Gaara replied wondering what he was getting himself into. Naruto grinned and stood up pulling the other boy to his feet as well, the blond then pulled him into a tight hug causing the Kazekage to gasp in surprise. Naruto slide his hand up and down the other boys back and closed his eyes, he felt the redhead stiffen up in his arms and held him tighter. A few moments pasted and slowly Gaara lifted his hands to rest them on the back of the blond's shoulder blades, a deep blush covering his pale face. After a few moments Naruto stepped back and grinned seeing how red the Kazekage had gotten.

"Alright lets go on our date!" Naruto said loudly and grabbed the redheads hand.
